Allan’s practice focuses primarily on the areas of Tax, Estate Planning and Corporate Law.

Experience

For more than twenty-five years I have represented clients of all levels of income and net worth in estate and tax planning matters. This extensive experience paired with my previous work for the Estate and Gift Tax Division of the Internal Revenue Service positions me as a valuable resource for my clients.

As leader of the firm’s Estate Planning practice, I concentrate primarily in the areas of tax and estate planning, as well as corporate law. Whether assisting clients with matters including planned charitable giving, life insurance planning or providing for children and grandchildren, I am very familiar with all areas of estate planning and administration. Additionally, my representation of many smaller and medium-sized businesses has given me strong insight into the complementary aspects of corporate law and estate planning.

I am a member of both the North Carolina and South Carolina State Bars and admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, the United States District Court of South Carolina, the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Claims.

While attending George Washington University as an undergraduate student, I was active in a variety of organizations resulting in my election to Omicron Delta Kappa, an honorary fraternity. I served on the Board of Trustees at George Washington University from 2004-2016 and have recently been named as a Trustee Emeritus of the University.

While attending law school at the University of South Carolina, I served on the legal staff of the Internal Revenue Service, Estate and Gift Tax Division. I have also been an active member of my community and previously served as President of the Wake County Jewish Federation and President of the Raleigh Kiwanis Club Foundation.  I currently serve on the National Trust for the Humanities in Washington, DC.
